Bandhani silk stoles from Gujarat

A type of tie & dye where a figurative design is made by tiny bindings of the cloth. the tiny bindings are made by plucking of the cloth by fingernails. It dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization as early as 4000 BC. Can be seen in the 6th century paintings depicting the life of Buddha found on the walls of Ajanta caves.
